Searching the Library catalog

Use the library catalog to find books on your author or literary theme.

 Go to:

www.harpercollege.edu/library

1. Click on "Library Catalog"

2. Type: Shakespeare, William

3. Select Subject in the "Search by" box

If you are looking for books about an author, or his/her work, search the author’s name as a Subject.

Type the last name, first name

If you are looking for books by an author search the author’s name as Author.

Type the last name, first name

Review the titles on the search result screen:

 

You may want to narrow your search to works that are criticial interpretations of Shakespeare's works or work overviews.  Find  "History and criticism" under the topics listed in the right-hand column:

 

Works that are editied by Harold Bloom are always a good choice. Look for his name in the description of the book (Blooms Modern Critical Views) or as the editor of a volume.

 

 

 

Using I-Share

Look for the "I-Share" tab in the Harper College Library catalog. 


 

Interlibrary Loan

If you can't find books or articles owned by the Harper College Library you can request them through Interlibrary Loan. Access the electronic request form through the "Online Forms" and "Borrow from other Libraries" links on the library home page. Be sure to fill out as much information as possible on the form (i.e. contact information such as first and last name, phone number and email and item information such as title, author, date of publication, and any article information.  The service is free to Harper students and employees.
