Researching The Holocaust

The Holocaust, or Shoah, is one the most studied events in human history resources include primary sources, books, film, journals, and artifacts . Museums and memorials provide first hand accounts, displays, and archives. This guide cannot be comprehensive but will serve as a jumping off point for Holocaust research. It will highlight resources both within the Harper Library and elsewhere. Studying the Holocaust is not easy but it is essential for understanding human history, confronting evil, and promoting empathy

“I believe firmly and profoundly that whoever listens to a witness becomes a witness, so those who hear us, those who read us must continue to bear witness for us. Until now, they’re doing it with us. At a certain point in time, they will do it for all of us.” — Elie Wiesel
