Library Research Guide for Harper College students studying Art.

Using Library databases

We're all familiar with using our phones to read breaking news and searching the web for quick information. Leisure searching as such, is an excellent way to discover topics that feed your curiosity and propel you forward into academic research. The Harper College Library provides access to newspapers, popular magazines, scholarly journals, and professional trade publications, all of which are important for college-level research.  Discover the sources you need to be successful using the databases and tutorials on this page.  The video below explains the difference between what is found in Library databases versus Google.  Libraries subscribe to and purchase content that is not freely available on the web.
