Loose fitting clothing, hanging jewelry, or other entanglement hazards should be addressed before using machinery.

Clean up your area after use.

Closed toe shoes and pulled-back hair are recommended.

Do not use the sewing machines carelessly. Using a sewing machine may cause small pricks to the skin from a needle, but both sewing machines and sergers have enough power to put a needle through a finger

Sergers have blades that may cut through skin.

Always feel free to ask a Library employee if you have any questions about the safety, setup, or operations of the machines.
