Harper College Library uses the Library of Congress Classification (LCC) to organize the book collection. In this system, materials are organized by discipline. Unfortunately this makes it difficult to search for multi-disciplinary topics such as LGBQT+. Many of the LGBTQ+ materials will be in the following call number range: HQ12 - HQ77.95. You can browse that area of the collection, but also reach out to a librarian for help with finding LGBTQ+ books that might be in different disciplines.
Librarians at Harper College assign Library of Congress (LOC) subjects to books and ebooks based on what the book is about. Below are links to some of the LOC subjects that librarians assign to books. If you click a subject below it will search the Harper College Library catalog for books, ebooks, films etc. that have been assigned that subject. These subjects were created by Library of Congress and may not represent preferred terminology.
